Easter Flowers – Sunday, March 31, 2024 At Easter we invite parishioners to make a donation for altar flowers to honor their loved ones. You can email or call the church office with your dedication. Please let us know whether your $40 donation is in memory of or in honor of your loved ones, and include their name(s). Checks may be placed in the offering plate or mailed to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1426, Eldersburg, MD 21784. Be sure to include “Altar Guild” on the memo line of your check.
Vestry News Vestry members Pam Jacobs, Pat Reier, and Lisa Thomas (Registrar) will rotate off the Vestry after the Annual General Meeting on April 21, having concluded their three-year terms. We are very grateful to them for their service! We are also grateful to Nancy Baglin, Lois Graham, and Charlene Toth who have agreed to put their names forward for election this year. We still have room on the Vestry for additional members, so if you are interested in knowing what Vestry service entails, please talk with senior warden Chris Gunther or Fr. Tim. We are also looking for a registrar to take the minutes of our monthly meetings. If you enjoy this kind of work, please let Chris or Fr. Tim know.
Church Office Closed Easter Week The church office will be closed the week after Easter. Fr. Tim will be available for emergencies: 443-827-5843.

Easter Pantry Project Let’s bring some Easter joy to the families we support via our Pantry Project! All three families that we assist are suffering from major health problems and really need both our tangible and intangible support. We would like to give each family a store gift card. If you would like to help, you can write a check with “Pantry Project” in the memo line or give cash to Jill Singleton or Wayne Pugh. Deadline for contributions is March 24. Thank you!
Empty Bowls: Help Combat Hunger, One Bowl at a Time Empty Bowls was created to bring awareness of hunger to everyone, to foster community and raise funds to support those in need. On Sunday, April 7, at Empty Bowls of Carroll County, you will experience a delicious sampling of soups provided and served by the area’s best restaurants. Tickets include soup, bread, water, and a take-home, handcrafted ceramic bowl as a reminder of those whose bowls remain empty. Bowls are provided by local schools, groups, and volunteers. Desserts and beverages will be available for an additional donation. Proceeds benefit The Shepherd’s Staff’s Emergency and Crisis Assistance Programs. Seating times: 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:00 pm. Cost: $35/person (Children ages 5 and under free). Address: Portico – St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, 21157.
Night by Night Shelter/Family Shelter St. Barnabas supports the Night by Night Shelter by providing snack items, paper products, and bagged lunches. The lunches consist of a sandwich, snack items, and a bottle of water and are delivered to the shelter and distributed to clients as they leave the shelter. We also support the Family Shelter in downtown Westminster. Home to approximately seven families living there temporarily, this shelter is happy to accept clothing, blankets, toiletries etc. Please continue to donate items to both shelters. If you have any questions or need help with items, please call me. Thank you. ~~ Wayne Pugh
